Tank’s Success Story —

[When Team Tank joined the RRP,] Tank could not be left alone due to his separation anxiety, he would not let us leave the house and the only way we could get out was to lock him in the garden where he would bark and howl and we got complaints from the neighbours. Because of this we were not leaving the house together.

Reactivity-his triggers were dogs and he could not be within 100m of dogs without barking, lunging, pulling and biting the lead.

[Now] We are able to enjoy life we our daughter and go to the beach, swimming, parks etc which we couldn’t do before. I can now advocate for Tank with family, vets etc as I know his body language. I am not afraid to speak up if I can see he is uncomfortable.

  • When we moved house he was reacting to any noise outside and using the training techniques he now very rarely barks to any noises. He lies down when we leave instead of barking and howling. If he does a few barks when we leave we know this is ok as he will soon settle down.

  • How quickly he calmed down after having 5 dogs bark/growl at him through a fence nose to nose (scary moment that was very very unexpected).

  • We can now leave the house and Tank does not howl and only a few barks. He still does not like us leaving and does get overaroused/panicked in the build up to us leaving. We have left him for 5 hours now and he has been ok.

  • Reactivity-he can now get within 80m of a dog.

  • Being able to read them and know what may look like discomfort in one dog can be normal for another eg. Ears pinned back for Tank is normal and resting.

The support has been great for Jenna via Instagram and she really does sympathise and help out. The level of support from Jenna and other teams is next level. The videos and the coaching calls. Being able to look back on the calls was great

I would recommend it to others as it is so in depth and just doesn’t teach you about how to train your dog but teaches you how to understand them. It has made us have a better emotional connection to Tank and helped so much with Alaska and knowing when he is comfortable around her vs anxious. We have learned things that we will teach Alaska as she grows up to help her be a great dog guardian too.

The support and knowledge you get is next to none but it does take a lot of commitment. If you have the time and discipline then it Is 100% for you.
