Nia & Groot’s Success Story —

“[When we joined the RRP] we were in crisis mode to say the least. We were having weekly reactivity episodes between the dogs. Nia was triggering Groot very often, even just during regular play time. Nia was getting increasingly scared of Groot and my reactions towards them. We were in a horrible place. My work was suffering because I was constantly worried about them together and couldn’t focus. 

Walks were non-existent because they were both severely triggered by other dogs and Nia more so with strange people. Car rides were very difficult as well. 

We are all in such a better place now. Groot and Nia are actively working on their relationship. I can take them both places now in the car, to the park, etc. Their anxiety and reactivity in the outside world has greatly improved. 

They both settle much more easily in the house during my work-day and calm down a lot quicker after stressful situations. When we do “brain games” or training, they are both so much more engaged with me and the task than worrying about each other/resource guarding. They engage with each other more often unprompted by me. 

I feel pretty confident about working on their relationship together and integrating them back into each other’s lives. I have a lot more confidence about it than I did in the past. 

It’s greatly improved all around with both dogs. I’m no longer constantly stressed or anxious in my own home. I now understand their unique behaviors, their body language, their thresholds, and their limits. 

Jenna and the group have been very supportive. I’ve learned so much. Jenna has been invaluable to us. She’s helped us all so much! 

The videos are great, but I really like the worksheets (I just learn better that way) and I like the workbooks that have been put together. I’ve printed them off and created a binder for us. 

This program is one of the most comprehensive programs for dog anxiety/reactivity. This is definitely not your standard “dog training” program. It provides so much guidance and support for YOU as the owner, as well as your dog. 

What would you say to someone who wants to join the RRP but is on the fence at the moment?

You won’t regret the time, energy, or cost of this program. It’s totally changed my relationship with and view of my dogs. I was quickly reaching a breaking point thinking that I would need to rehome my baby boy (Groot) because I didn’t know what other options there was for us and I didn’t have the knowledge to know how to handle their individual issues. Now, we have a bright future together. 😊 “
